An Exhibition at the Capitola Historical Museum • March 1, 2014 - December 28, 2014
Welcome to the companion website for the exhibit, Take Me Out To Capitola, which explores the life and times of baseball star Harry Hooper. Harry played for the Boston Red Sox (1909-1920) and the Chicago White Sox (1921-1925) and is in the National Baseball Hall of Fame. When not playing baseball, Harry lived in the small seaside community of Capitola, California, where in later years he sold real estate and served as postmaster. A respected civic leader, Harry played an important role in Capitola's development during the early to mid 1900s.
